I have a ganglion cyst and it looks horible. do somebody know how to get rid of this withour any operation? i recently had this same problem on my left hand....it was not fun, i went to the doctor, and they removed it. it was the worst thing ever! they shot me up with so much morphine and painkillers it was ridiculous! i was sick for a week and now i have about an inch scar on my hand and it doesnt look too good. before i went to set up the surgery date the doc told me that back in the day preachers used to take Bibles and hit cyst's with it. he didnt recommend it, but said that alot of people just burst them their selves....i believe it had a nickname for that reason....anyway it depends on how "tough" you are with pain:) i seriously reccomend going to the doctor, don't worry they deal with stuff like this all the time, good luck You have to have it cut out!!!!!! a cyst is just an overactive sweat gland that got cloged up, sometimes they will go away on their own sometimes they wont. if, after awhile it doesnt go away you will want to have it lanced by a doctor. Many times, a licensed massage therapist can work on the cyst to break it up and flush it out. It will come back if you keep doing the repeitive action that originally caused the cyst (it's a protective mechanism for underlying structures of the area), but you can usually have a LMT friction it. After a few sessions, it should disappear. take a hard covered book and smack them really hard... they burst, wont hurt you but do come back...hopefully theyre not anywhere on your face!!!! I have a nurse friend who's husband has had the surgery twice but they keep coming back. Aspiration involves inserting a needle into the cyst and removing its contents after numbing the area with a local anesthetic. Because it is thought that inflammation contributes to the production and accumulation of the fluid in the cyst, an anti-inflammatory drug (steroid) is often then injected back into the cyst in an attempt to decrease the inflammation and prevent subsequent refilling of the cyst. Recent research found that using another substance (hyaluronidase, an enzyme used in the treatment of certain forms of arthritis to promote resolution of redundant tissue) along with the steroid after aspiration increased the cure rate from 57% (aspiration and steroid alone) to 89% with the combined substances. |
