Need some advice for a ganglion cyst on the underside of the wrist.?

It is located on the right wrist and using my mouse constantly rubs it. I use a gel mousepad that helps but if laid flat on something hard, it can be quite painful.

You need to go to a doctor, no one on here can help you.
the doctor will most probably give you a cortizone shot directly into the cyst which should shrink it.
It will never really go away and any irritation will only make it worse.

My daughter has one of these. A women she works with, who is always telling her some wive's tale, told her that if she got someone to hit it with a Bible it would go away.
My daughter went to the doctor. He said they sometimes go away on their own, and sometimes you can break it up and speed up the recovery by rubbing it a lot. Surgery should be a last resort. Then he said something that floored her. That people used to get rid of them by hitting them with a Bible! He said it actually works, but it doesn't have to be a Bible, just something heavy. It breaks the cyst up and it goes away. But it's very painful. Crazy, huh?
No, my daughter did not have me hit it with a Bible or anything else. Hers has gotten a little better on its own.

I had one before, went to the doctors, and she wouldnt do anything for it. She said to leave it alone and it would go away on its own. It did within 1 week. She did say that if it got bigger or more painful, to call her. Try to not let anything touch it if possible. It'll go away.

I had one of those a few years back. It was compressing a nerve in my wrist....it hurt....like no pain I have ever felt. After weeks of being in pain (if my sleeve touched it....I couldn't even see) I finally broke down and went to the doctor....he sent me to an orthopedic. The morning of the appointment...it was gone....no sign of it and no pain. I went anyway....just in case. He told me what is was. He said they can do surgery on it when it is active. Or he said you can "take care of it the old fashion way and smash it with a BIBLE" and he added any other heavy book". He said the smash breaks the sac and the liquid is absorbed by your body. Just thinking about the pain, I almost passed out! Without knowing I did the second thing....waited it out. I was told it may came back.......when it does I 'll wait out the pain. Something about this smashing thing, just sounds like more pain than I could ever stand.
