Ok i've had a ganglion cyst on my wrist for quite a while now?

it appeared 7 years ago and either its gone a way and come back a few times without me noticing or its always been there. it is painful when i press down on it and very tender. but it was not always like that.

so i might go get surgery to remove it, and since its so large they're actually going to cut open my wrist and like take it out instead of draining it.

or i can drop something heavy on it and have it rupture on its own. but i am sooo scared of the pain of having surgery or having it rupture.

has anyone else experienced this? and what would you recommend.

my husband had one one time ,it was a size of a nickel size hail. the dr, put a needle in it & drained it. & gave him some prednisone & antibiodics to check it.

dont do it yourself. you dont kno wats in there.. it could be bad stuff [sorry i have no idei wat kinda word to use there] & if it gets into ur blood u coud get such a bad infection! dont make the problem worse then it is ! its not so bad compared to wat could happen !

geezers stop being a Frayda cat and go get it checked out and removed.

I had a cyst taken out of my wrist years ago and the surgery was heavy duty enough that they knocked me out. So no pain at all. It was a pretty strange surgery, but I had no troubles during or after and I can barely see the scar now.

Always better to go with doctor's opinion than dropping a heavy object on it, that just sounds even more painful and potentially really dangerous.

My son just had one removed from his wrist last week. He is doing fine and only had 3 stitches. They do have a small chance of coming back. If they drain it, it will come back.

My son is 17 and thought is was a breeze.
