Have you ever had a Ganglion Cyst in your wrist, if so ...?

Did you have it removed, did it cause you any pain?
If you did have one and got it removed, what was the procedure and are you glad you had it done?

I have one on the top of my wrist, it is about the size of a golf ball and hurts incredibly bad, so much that i had 6 Xrays and an MRI to find out the cause. We found it last week, and they said there could be an underlining problem beneath it, such as a torn ligament, fracture etc. I think i may want to have it removed so that we can see if theres something else causing the pain as well. Thats the reason i wanted to hear about others having surgery on theirs and the experiences. Thanks!!

I have a Ganglion cyst in my wrist..my Doctor said there was no guarantee it would not come back after surgery..so I deal with it, but mine is huge at times and hardly not there at times. And hurts occasionally no matter what.I will always have mine!

Thank you for finding my answer best!! Good luck whatever you decide to do...I will keep mine..Stupid cyst!!PEACE! Report It

I had a ganglion cyst in my wrist many years ago. The doctor (this was in Australia) hit it with a large book. It's been fine ever since.

I understand that more modern treatments have since been developed.

I experienced a Gangleion cist on my wrist, at times it was uncomfortable enough to cause me to notice. When I consulted my Dr. she showed me the one she had and advised that I should wait, that they can clear up on their own. I waited and sure enough it went away after a few months without treatment. Check with your health professional. Good luck!!
