Should I pop my ganglion cyst ?

I am going to invite my friend over, and have him do it. (I'm far too afraid) I'll find a nice hard book, and just have him hit it.


but how how hard should he his it?

How should i have my arm?


should i cushion it?


what should i do afterwards?

and most importantly, which part of the book?

the face with like the title and stuff, or the thin part? like you know what i mean.

Fuzzykittens idea is interesting, but popping a ganglion is not a good idea. You could introduce an infection into your wrist. And it would come back.

The only way to get rid of a ganglion is to have it surgically excised.

Lets see the best spot is to sit in a comfortable chair and have your ( Friend ) do you the favor of smacking you on top of the head with a Scientific Encyclopedia.

You should see a doctor. I had a ganglion surgically removed and my doctor specifically said NOT to pop it myself. I could pop mine with my fingers, but he said that was bad enough...not to mention hitting it with a book.

My doctor told me about people he has seen for broken wrists who had a friend hit their wrists with books, hammers, two by fours, etc. Not a good idea, you think a ganglion is bad, try having a fused wrist joint.

See a doctor if you have insurance. If you don't, you might just have to live with it for a while (plenty of people do) unless you can afford to have it removed or drained. But definitely don't risk a broken wrist by bashing it with anything.
