Anyone ever had a Ganglion Cyst removed? Pros & Cons?

I had a Ganglion Cyst removed from the side of my right hand in 1984. To be honest though, I cant really give you any pros or cons because I had several other surgeries prior to having the cyst removed. I remember that it didnt really hurt by being there . It was just kinda of irritating because I could feel it there like when I rubbed it with my other hand. It was about the size of a pinto bean. I was a buthcher for about 6 years . That job really did a number on my hands. I had several surgeries for tendinitis and I also had surgery for carpel tunnel. all in the same hand. So i dont really know if removing that cyst helped me or not .

Had one removed on my foot and one on my wrist. Very very minor surgery. Takes a while to heal, but then when it does all the pain and discomfort is gone and the scar is very small. Well worth doing. The cyst will continue to grow and the pain will only get worse.

yes, I had one removed from my wrist and there were no complications and insurance paid for most of it so there wasnt really any cons for me. Good luck to you, take care

Had one removed from my finger.

I was warned it could grow again. So far it hasn't, scar is a little sensitive though.

I had another 2 that have grown really large then spontaneously started to shrink - perhaps they were frightened by the specialist appointments I had made?

Unless they are actively interfering with your day to day activities I would be inclined to leave them be.
