Parents Addicted to Gambling!!!? |
Okay, so this all started a few months ago, my parents started going to the casino maybe once or twice a week and it continued for a few weeks, then they would be going like every other day, and that also continued for a few weeks, now they are going EVERY single day, they leave me to babysit their 12 year old mentally retarted daughter every night, and i have confronted them that they have a problem, but they just laugh and tell me that they have their own money and can do what they want with it, now im not saying that its illegal and i should have control over their money but i do think that they have a serious problem and it will cause major financial problems if they dont stop and im not sure how to help because talking to them has not helped....WHAT SHOULD I DO? It depends on your age, I would report them. This shouldn't have to be something you worry about. This kid could be put in a much better place. Social Services can take control of it and you would be out of the picture. Are they your parents? you could tape an episode of the A&E series Intervention - they have episodes of people with gambling addictions, and have them watch it. Then tell them how you feel. Also you could go to your church and ask for help. good luck. it depends on how old you are report them to someone, ask someone and I hope they will be forced to get therapies. but if they laugh, maybe they are immature and irresponsible. they need help. seek help (counsellor maybe?) and force your parents to talk to them. tell them what jerks they're being and that they're being stupid and irresponsible. make them listen to you and if they don't, yuo could call child protective services :) |
