you must seek professional help, It is an addiction,,, It would be hard for you to do it cold turkey, you can try, but there are groups called gamblers anonymos, you can join.

Therapy would be good--a therapist could help you understand why you do it and how to cope in other ways.

Once you start, it's hard to stop. Just pretend you're ten and aren't allowed to. Or ask someone to tell you not to otherwise they'll... Hope this helps! -question001

What causes you to gamble? What gives you the urge? Is it dealing with family situations, work situations, or financial issues?

2. Avoid temptation

Don't put yourself in situations where you will be tempted to gamble. Drive a different way, mute commercials, delete internet favorites, whatever exposes you to gambling.

3. Find alternate means of dealing with issues

Get some support that you can rely on when you are having problems that typically lead you to gamble. Talk to someone instead of gambling. Most communities have gambling support groups.

this is very hard, depending on your situation...it can be for an escape from the stress you live in, such as running to a casino, which I have been guilty of..I had to personally tell myself, that God disapproves of it, and it is a sin, and I still have a hard time resisting...it is very 'rewarding' to win, and when you are really down, it makes you feel like you are a winner when you win, of course..but when you lose, the guilt just isn't worth it anymore...Good luck sweetheart...Pray on it for strength, please...

Get counselling at an addiction treatment center one on one with a counsellor. Find one in the phone book and call. Or can go to family doctor and tell him you want all the help you can get and he can set it up. You will be surprised with the right help how you can lick this...don't waste another day; fix this, you will be surprised how much you learn about yourself.
