Where can I obtain a self-help book on how to cope with my younger sister's alcohol and gambling addictions? |
I am 43 and she is 39....And I just need something to read to help me cope with the problems that come with her addictions....She still my little sister and I love her..and I don't want to lose her. Any kind of resources will be helpfull.. Co-Dependant No More |

Who would you sue? Your Parkinsons' doctor, your mirapex doctor, the casino or all of the above? To answer the question, no. Most "sober" addicts I've known say that the f... For me it's cigarettes, coffee and sex. Sounds silly but if you suck on a lollipop it sometimes helps to cut out cigarette cravings, I think it's something to do with the hand to mouth... I've often wondered if there's a way of denying your own access to such sites (I need help in this area too!) and asked this question myself, but other than blocking the site in your brow... Private help is probably better, followed up by some type of weekly meeting. Most people think the 12 step programs are kinda bogus. ...Everything you do affects brain chemistry in a meaningful way. Everything you do can be addictive. You have to distinguish healthy dependency from unhealthy addiction. Breathing, loving, physica... The % will be high if you get support and join a 12 step program. I do not know of a study that is true, Most people don't like to take about there problems and allot of kids can gamble on lin... The addiction gene as I call it does exist, a few people on my fathers side were alcoholics (I never knew them) but my father never in his life took a sip of alcohol..but hes addicted to sodas and ... Some people love to take risks. Some live for it. ... |
