Question about antidepessants!? |
99% of us aren't doctors. I am not looking for a professional opinion. Just a consumer poll. I had frequent thoughts of death. Not suicide, but just death in general. Thoughts like "I have 6 brothers & sisters. 1 of us will see all the others dead". I also slept too much, didn't want to spend much time with friends & family. I lost interest in work & play. And when I was feeling down, I tended to gamble & take pain killers. The gambling and pain killers were the only thing that took all my problems away. (so it seemed). I am currently taking Effoxor XR and I'm having great results with it. I feel 100% better. Before the meds, I felt like a slug, didn't want to do anything. Now I have more energy and don't dread the thought of having to go to work and do all the other things I have to do. I know everyone is different, but I didn't do well with the Wellbutrin at all. Maybe you could discuss with your doctor about a different dosage, or a different perscription. Good luck to you. The physical side of depression? Are you talking about the pain that some people experience in their body due to depression? Like headaches, back pain, other muscle pain, etc.? The one and only best answer is to go back to your psychiatrist and explain how you are feeling, how you feel the WellbutrinXL is working and how it is not. you may need a combination of medications. I'm on 3 different ones and then a 4th to help with side effect of drowsiness they all cause. Really your doctor is your best answer. Good luck. If you are already taking Welbutrin XL, may I suggest some counseling and an exercise program. It sounds as if you do need medication, but it is my observation that less is sometimes better. So instead of adding more meds, try getting up and taking a walk first thing in the morning, or better yet, a jog or something more vigorous like kickboxing class or something to your taste that will get the endorphins going. It will be tough, but it will help. get rid of that stuff,it WILL cause problems down the line, sounds like you are bi/polar,see a few more shrinks please. I took Wellbutrin for a while but didn't like how it made me feel. It made me irascible or should I say it made me more so. The doctor tried me on Celexa but there wasn't any impressive results there. I don't remember what else I tried, if anything, but I've finally ended up on Effexor. It really did the trick after finding the right dose (225mg) and I haven't felt better, sorta. zoloft: |
