What does 'understudied" and 'underrecognized" mean? |
pathological gambling is an underrecognized and understudied psychiatric disorder in which people are preoccupied with gambling. It's not studied very much, you can't read too much about it in the psychological textbooks or professional journals. It means that psychologists dont look for it, and may not recognize it untill in a very advanced state - and not much research has been done on it so far.... understudied means not enough evalution was done to make a proper diaghosis under reckonized means they were not bieng seen for thier true self which is really the same |
