Gallstones!!! HELP!!!?

Can anyone tell me what the procedure is for removing gallstones from a medical standpoint. Medicines? surgery? I mean what's the step by step order of events leading up to and including the removal of gallstones?

Can anyone give me any suggestions for treating gallstones on your own at home? (besides just changing my diet)

In the past several years, gallbladder surgery is much less invasive. It is done by laparoscopy about 90% of the time; unless the lap surgery is not practical. Usually it's done as an out-patient, and in just a few days you'll feel like a new person. Just make sure you get some good drugs for the pain in case you experience excess pain. You'll be glad you opt for this, and will feel soooo much better.

Best of luck!

remove your gall-bladder with laproscopic surgy overnight stay in hospital. If you remove the stones they will come back and might turn to cancer too.

Some people drink organic apple juice for a few days. This helps soften the gallstones. and drinking a lot of water helps flush them out, so you won't need the expensive surgery.

You can go to Google. And type in "home remedies for gallstones". That should give you some information.

Good luck!

Gallbladder or RUQ Ultrasound. Depending on what the reports says (no stones, stones, or stones with inflammation), possible laproscopic surgery. Surgeon makes three 1/2 inch inches in your belly and removes the gallbladder. You could be home in as little as 1 day.

Some people are genetically prone to developing gallstones (or kidney stones). I myself developed gallstones, and I eat a low-fat diet, which is supposed to help avoid them. If your body is developing gallstones, just changing your diet will NOT make them go away. For some reason, your body has decided to take its bile and make little rocks out of it.

I had them removed via laparoscopic surgery (the surgeon will make three small incisions on your abdomen). I had my gallbladder removed because it was most likely going to continue developing stones.

I felt better just the day after the surgery (because my symptoms were gone!). The surgical sites didn't take very long to heal (maybe a few weeks). I was given pain relievers to last about 4-5 days, and that was plenty.

It can be very dangerous to leave gallstones to dissolve, even with homeopathic methods. One can get jammed in the in the opening between the gallbladder and intestines and cause infections. Then you would need surgery anyway, and it would be much much more risky.
After you get an ultrasound confirming that you have gallstones, I would recommend seeing a general surgeon and set up a time to get surgery. My gallbladder removal was an outpatient procedure. I showed up 2 hrs before the surgery. Had a laproscopic removal. And left 2.5 hours later.
I received pain meds for pain after the surgery. I think I took 2 of them, maybe. The gallbladder attacks were much more painful than the pain from the surgery.
I had the surgery on a Thursday and returned to work on Tuesday. I probably should have taken off an entire week though.
