Can camphor help eliminate gallstones?

A friend was diagnosed with gallstones. Instead of opting for gallbladder removal/surgery, she heard that camphor can eliminate gallstone. Simply boil the leaves and drink it and the stones will be flushed out. Is it ture?

thats insane.

It depends on the size of the stones and how hard they are. I've never heard of camphor, but I tried Hot lemon and olive oil to force my gallbladder into contractions and I didn't get rid of the stones. I had to have surgery and it was one very large stone and there is no way it could have passed through the duct. If stones block the duct it can be a very serious condition. Better to have it surgically removed than risk that. It is a very common surgery and they can do it in such a way as to leave a very small scar which is hardly noticeable.

I frankly would do the gallbladder surgery to make sure all the stones are gone.. But having said that. I have a crazy health nut aunt who does everything the natural way. She swears by this body cleansing method. ..Fast all day eating nothing but water and white grapes. then in the evening, drink 1/2 cup of olive oil with 1/4 cup lemon juice. Go to sleep. In the morning, you will pee out stones. This will work like a mega super laxitive, but will clean out the stones. she claims she can actually see the stones. (gross but she claims if she pees in a seive, she can catch the little stones for proof). It is mildly painful, like a burning sensation while the stones are passing, is what she claims. (OH. note: this is also supposed to rid your intestines of parasites, pin worms, tape worms etc)

i wouldnt take answers from friends unless there a dr i had the surgery

JAMA (Journal of American Medical Association?) came out with a study a couple of years go that said you can prevent surgery through exercise. I take long walks (11/2 -2 hours) every night to keep my stones in check. It really seems to work! Meanwhile be careful not to diet and lose weight too fast cause that can cause attacks.
