Can gallstones return even if you have had you gallbladder removed?

I have had my gallbladder removed several years ago. But recently i have had the same pain as when i had the gallstones. I have asked different doctors this question, some say no, some say it is possible. What do you think. Can gallstones form even if you do not have a gallbladder anymore.

gallstones are deposits that form in your gallbladder so if there is no gallbladder there cant ge gallstones....when they removed your gallbladder did they check your bile tube for gallstones....when i had my gallbladder removed they found stones in my bile tube where the gallstones tried to pass to my liver...you might want to ask your doctor

the main function of the gallbladder is to store bile after a meal the gallbladder empties the bile into your small intestines to break down fats
after it is removed the bile is no longer stored but goes directly to the intestines
the small intestine absorbs most of the bile but some passes through and reaches the large intestines which interferes with the absorption of water
so what you might be feeling is gas which can mimic the pain of gallstones
if you eat a lot of heavy fatty foods this can happen it can also cause you to have diarrhea
maintain a diet high in fiber and drink adequate amounts of water
avoid spicy foods
excessive dairy products fatty foods excessive caffeine and alcohol
your doctor can advise you if you need to take medications that impair absorption of bile such as amphogel
