I have gallstones and I am pregnant? |
This morning at 3am I woke up in severe pain and went to the ER and they told me I had gallstones (after a unltrasound) and I was pregnant about 6wks and they don't want to do surgery because of the baby. My question is how big will the scar be and do I have to get my gallbladder taken out or can I get just the stones? Also what can I eat I know no fatty foods but please give me some examples. thanks! Sometimes they can do it while you are still pregnant. Look for a good surgeon. Have your OB refer you to someone. Also, nowadays they do what is called a keyhole incision, which is 4 tiny incisions around the belly. No big deal really. The recovery is pretty simple, too. I went through the exact same thing with my first pregnancy. I bought low fat cookbooks, that helped. Also ate Healthy Choice dinners some and lean cuisine. When they remove the gallbladder, they make 4 tiny insisions. After a while they are barely noticeable. Hope this helps. Good luck. |
