Pregnant with gallstones?

Im 11 weeks pregnant and was told at 4 weeks pregnant that i had gallstones, i had been having gallbladder attacks everyday!!! 3 weeks ago i got pancreatitis and my liver wasn't working as it should.
thankfully a few days in hospital being starved helped but i was told i will not be able to eat much and everything is to be low fat, i mean yes ok but im pregnnat , i can not even mange some low fat foods as my gallbladder just goes mad and its so so painfull as those of you will know if you have had it.
im told they may remove my gallbladder in a few weeks when im more than 12 weeks pregnnat this is so i can nourish myself and baby, but im really frightend is there anyone out there who has gone through this or is going through it please get in touch

It sucks that they starve you when you've got pancreatitis, but it's the only way to reduce the pancreatic enzymes. The baby will take what it needs from your body and everyone loses weight during this time anyway (with pancratitis and the no eating diet). As for the gallbladder, I aggree with the surgery. You're early in your pregnancy and doing it after the 12 week mark makes it more safe, but you dont' want to wait until you're so far along that the baby is in the way. They can do it laproscopically and as outpatient surgery these days. Having to deal with both will make your pregnancy a very long and miserable one. At least having your gallbladder removed will prevent another attack from ever happening, but you'll have a lot of dietary restrictions in the beginning.

Good luck and congrats!

Any oils or spices irritate a gallbladder with stones. You just have to eat really bland foods. the only thing I could hold down was malt-o-meal and potato soup. And occasionally fruit like plums and apples.I lived on crackers. I had it when I was pregnant with my first and my doctor said oh everyone gets morning sickness. He never did anything about it and 2 months after I had my baby I had my gallbladder removed because of a huge stone and several smaller ones.If they do the surgery soon then you will probably have nothing to worry about after it is done. I had a friend who had it done and her and her baby were just fine!!! good Luck
