At what age does gallbladder disease happen?

I'm 21 and my upper right abdomen hurts badly, I thought it might be my gallbladder, but someone told me gallbladder disease happens to older people. I need to know if anyone has had the simular problem as I do?

Gall bladder disease does not depend on age. I have seen many patients younger than you are, even as young as EIGHT years, who have had gall bladder surgery.

Gall baldder can and does strike at any age, although it seems to be more prevalent the older people get. See the doc.

What you've been told is not true. Yes, gallbladder issues usually happen when you're older than you are, but they can occur earlier too. I had to have my gallbladder removed when I was 21. It's time to see your doctor and find out what's going on. Good luck.

I know of a 32 year old woman who had her gallbladder removed.

it's possible it's your gallbladder, but may be just a gas bubble also.

go to your doctor to get tested for gallstones. a simple sonogram is all it takes.

if you need it removed, don't worry, it's day surgery. I went in at 9 am and was out by 1 pm! amazing!

recovery time a few days, with care taken (i.e. no lifting for one week or so).
