Plz take the time to answer this concerning my grandmother -gallbladder-?

my g/m has been suffering with lots of pain which got really bad the past 2 weeks. she had a gallstone test done awhile back, but was ok. the doc did say that the test wouldn't pick up if the gallbladder was diseased, and there was no futher testing. she's not eating or drinking, burping alot, pain like crazy even pain meds aren't helping much, she can't sleep and the pain moves around in the upper area to the back area.
i can see the symtoms of gallbladder disease on the internet. but i am wanting ppl to answer with their personal experience on the symtoms that you have had.
also, exactly where is the gallbladder located?
any other info would be helpful.

thanks for adding her to your prayer!!

for all others- she has been seeing a dr. she has been on several prescribed pain meds and yet today went to a stronger one. she had a test last week, but my family's not saying as much as they know, even g/m doesn't know. all i've been told is she'll probley have to have more test. g/m has said for yrs now that she thinks something is wrong with her gallbladder. now cancer is on her mind, inwhich i'm wondering if that's why more testing is needed. she also had probs with bacteria in her stomach.

I had a diseaed gallbladder. The symptoms for me were the following: right side hurts, lower back pain across to the left side, chest hurt, stomach hurt, did not want to get because it would hurt after I ate, felt like I was going to throw up, burping, sometimes it would hurt to breath, my heart would start to pound fast, and sometimes it hurt all over and I didn't want to move at all. The pain I had was so bad that the only thing that helped me was morphine that you get at the hospital. None of the prescribed drugs worked for me. I had to beg the doctors to take it out and that was after a year and a half of being sick all the time. Your gallblader is located underneath your rib cage but it is more in the middle of your chest is what the doctors told me. The gallbladder looks like a pepper and has this white covering but the actual color is a pinkish blue color. It turns a dark green when it is taken out. My sister also had hers taken out as well. I had more problems then my sister did. She was lucky compaired to me.

Well, I hope this helps you and your grandmother out!!!!! Tell her to get better soon!!!!:)

I do hope you get some personal experience feedback here, but it's important that if she's not eating or drinking and not sleeping, she needs to be taken to a doctor.

The gall bladder is situated under the right hand side rib cage and a way around from not getting so much pain, is by having lots of little meals instead of one big meal. So tell her not to have such a big night time meal.

Gallbladder pain and Pancreas pain are in the same place - more or less. Gallbladder - under right rib cage, radiates up through the right shoulder, lots of nausea and diarrhea. Pancreas is almost exactly the same but there is tenderness through the center of the ribs around the area of the sternum. And, the pain is way more severe ~ There is nothing OTC you can take to help.

I'm sorry, I don't know anything about this, but I will pray for her.

You need to take Gramma to a new Dr. so he can offer further testing. No Dr. should ever give up until they have found a definate answer as to what is causing the problem, then and only then can the problem be solved. Her symptoms include a range of many diseases like also a heart condition, lung problems, gastrointestinal , diet or back problems. The list can go on & on.Please seek other advice ASAP.Did you know woman who have heart attacks get pain that wraps around from front chest area to the back area , unlike men who experience a crushing pain in the center of the chest?

Hi If your grandmother is not eating and is in lots of pain she should go to emergency. They can run some tests and also help with her pain. As well give her an iv. Gallbladder pain can be caused by what she is eating. Dairy and some certain vegetables will cause great pain. But I still suggest you take your grandmother to emergency and let the doctors run tests and they will be better to help her and ease her pain. She may have gallstones I had them and they are very painfull and they do have new ways to treat them. So please take her in. Good Luck

Gall bladder is present in the right upper part
of the abdomen. It is secreting bile into gut and this bile is responsible for absorption of fat and fat soluble vitamins as A, D, K.
Gall stones is common in obese females. It leads to Cholecystitis ( inflammation of gall bladder) and its pain is severe and one of commonest causes of acute abdominal pain as pancreatitis and appendicitis.

I had a bout with my pancreas caused by a small gall stone blocking the duct. I am told pancreatitis (sp?) pain is third on the list of severity. First is labor, second a kidney stone. I spent a week in pain, much of it in the fetal position. It takes a lot of pain to slow me down. I amputated a finger and drove myself to the ER. So when I say it hurts you can believe it...

A person doesn't need their gall bladder to survive. I don't have one and I am doing quit nicely. The surgery was done orthoscopically (sp?). It was outpatient surgery; I arrived at the hospital at 7:00 AM and was on the road home by 3:00 PM. The hospital insisted I have a driver but I could have driven home just fine. My family and friends were almost an annoyance telling me to take it easy. I had four tiny cuts they closed with tape. I felt fine from the minute I woke up. Aside from being a little groggy I could have easily gone to work and done manual labor that afternoon.

Honest to God, if your g/m is having problems I can heartily endorse the surgery. I have had zero symptoms since the removal and it hasn't changed my life enough to even talk about it. All I have done is reduce the octane of the salsa I eat on chips, burritos, tacos etc. I went from hot to mild. I do notice that if I eat salsa that is too hot I can get a bit of acid and will need a couple of antacid tablets. Even that is no big deal鈥?br>
I don't know what else I can say except I accept email at my profile and will answer any other questions you might have. And if I don't know I'll tell you so or do the research to find out. Please let me know if there is anything else I can tell you.
