Can a hiatel hernia and gallbladder disease have the same symptoms? Yes they can. You need a few tests to diagnose which is which--nothing major, but it's worth being relieved of the pain no matter what it is! We were just talking about this at work today! yes,burning throat,pain in breastbone,pain between shouldarblades,gas,burping...all are symptoms of both diseases,only gallbladder is triggerd by greasy food,and hiatal hernia is aggravated by coffee,and acid products,my hernia was SO bad that if I drank liquids and bent over from the waist,the liquid would come back up in my mouth! I had h.h. surgury,they surgically narrow the opening to the stomach,.I still have symptoms,but eat small bites of food,don't shove large amounts of food into your stomach at 1time,and keep your diet more alkiline than acid,drink milk when you feel your throat burn. Good luck!! the symptoms are very simular. the best way to find out is to have an ultrasound done to rule out the gall bladder. One difference can be if you are having gall bladder issues you feel very bruised on the right just below the ribs. Both will cause great discomfort after eating. Try to eliminate greasy foods. don't think so. |

I had my gallbladder taken out and no stones showed up. What happened was that I'd had just one episode of galbladder pain which was incorrectly diagnosed as kidney stones... but it passed and...
