Can anyone tell what the symptoms of gallbladder disease are?

Cholelithiasis is the presence of one or more calculi (gallstones) in the gallbladder. In the US, 20% of people > 65 yr have gallstones, and most disorders of the extrahepatic biliary tract arise from gallstones. Gallstones may be asymptomatic or cause biliary colic but do not cause dyspepsia. Other common consequences of gallstones include cholecystitis; biliary tract obstruction (usually as a result of bile duct stones), sometimes with infection (cholangitis); and gallstone pancreatitis. Diagnosis is usually based on ultrasound. If cholelithiasis causes symptoms or complications, cholecystectomy becomes necessary.
Acute cholecystitis is inflammation of the gallbladder that develops over hours, usually as a result of cystic duct obstruction by a gallstone. Symptoms include right upper quadrant pain and tenderness, sometimes accompanied by fever, chills, nausea, and vomiting. Abdominal ultrasound detects the gallstone and sometimes the associated inflammation. Treatment usually involves antibiotics and cholecystectomy.
A gallbladder operation is absolutely necessary:
(1) When an acute inflammation is present. This can be diagnosed by elevated temperature, pain and tenderness in the vicinity of the gallbladder, an elevated white blood cell count, and x-ray evidence of a diseased organ.
(2) When the patient is having recurrent attacks of severe, colicky pain due to the presence of gallstones.
(3) When, in the presence of positive proof of gallbladder malfunction, the patient is suffering from chronic indigestion, nausea, flatulence, and pain in the right upper part of the abdomen.
(4) When jaundice, caused by an obstructing stone, is present.
Please note that I am not a medical professional.

Nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain. Call your doctor. Tests for this are very simple and it sometimes can be treated with meds and diet rather than surgery. Good Luck

#1 would be feeling as though you may be having a heart attack (acute attack)
generally you would have a intolorence for fatty foods which can bring on an attack.

They usually happen at night and are very bad stomache ache that nothing will make better. Usually happen after eating fatty food or dairy products.

SYMPTOMS OF GALLBLADDER PROBLEMS

People can go for years with digestive symptoms and never realize that they may be related to a gallbladder problem. That's because they are so inter-related with other digestive symptoms. Constipation is one of the most commonly missed ones. The list provided here may be related to gallbladder but bear in mind that it could also be something else. The first four mentioned I feel are most indicative of gallbladder issues. It is not necessary to have all or many symptoms to have gallbladder problems but the more you have from this list, the more confirmation you have that the gallbladder is involved. Please note that it is still adviseable to consult your doctor for an acurate diagnosis. Gallbladder attack symptoms are listed below.

1. Pain or tenderness under the rib cage on the right side
2. Pain between shoulder blades
3. Stools light or chalky colored
4. ndigestion after eating, especially fatty or greasy foods
5. Nausea
6. Dizziness
7. Bloating
8. Gas
9. Burping or belching
10. Feeling of fullness or food not digesting
11. Diarrhea (or alternating from soft to watery)
12. Constipation
13. Headache over eyes, especially right
14. Bitter fluid comes up after eating
15. Frequent use of laxatives

GALLBLADDER ATTACK SYMPTOMS

Please note that if you are in severe pain and particularly if your attack symptoms are accompanied by fever DO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY. The following symptoms are typical of a gallbladder attack.

1. Moderate to severe pain under the right side of the rib cage
2. Pain may radiate through to the back or to the right shoulder
3. Severe upper abdominal pain (biliary colic)
4. Nausea
5. Queasiness
6. Vomiting
7. Gas
8. Burping or belching
9. Attacks are often at night
10. Attacks often occur after overeating
11. Pain will often but not always follow a meal with fats or grease
12. Pain may be worse with deep inhalation

Attacks can last from 15 minutes to 15 hours

I hope this is helpful :)
I have added a ton of links to check into also.

Pain in the belly - lots of it. Nausea can be a real bugger too, and so can diarrhea and flatus (the gas you expel when you fart). The diagnostic test is as simple as an ultrasound scan of your gallbladder. That's how my one huge stone was found - the scan didn't hurt a bit. The only cure is surgery. Cholecystectomy is what it's called, and nowadays most of them can be done through tiny incisions using tiny t.v. cameras to guide small, precision instruments inserted through a tube placed inside your abdomen. Recovery takes about six weeks, although I've had some patients (I'm a registered nurse) return to work (obviously not hard labor) in as little as ten days. There is no age limit - adolescents can develop gallbladder disease while a good many patients are in their later years in life.
