What can cause pain in the upper right abdomen, and persistent vomiting? |
I have had this problem, and just had my gallbladder removed (HIDA scan showed low functionality), but the problem remains. All the doctors can tell me is that it is not appendicitis. They have run a lot of bloodwork including a full metabolic panel, and my liver enzymes have been elevated a couple of times. What are the possibilities that could cause this problem besides appendicitis and gallbladder disease. In response to winnie21us's question. No my gall bladder was not infected and I did not have gallstones, it just had an extremely low functionality. They believed the pain was due to bile buildup in the gallbladder itself, but I still have the pain even without the gallbladder. Also if it helps I'm a male, 18 years of age. You need to go see a different set of doctors if the ones you are seeing are unable to tell you what's wrong with you. By the way, why in the world did you agree to let them remove your gallbladder without being sure it was actually the problem? I've my gallbladder out last year and I never had this situation. The only problem I have is my insulin levels going up in my pancreas to keep my glucose ( blood sugars) leveled. It could depend on certain factors,However, with your liver enzymes up,I would be extremely careful as your body could be storing "excess"fat which is known as a "fatty liver". May I ask was your gallbladder infected or full of gallstones when you had it removed? In my case,I was hospitalized for 2 weeks.I had a mild case of pancreatitis and my intestines blocked with gallstones.Get a 2nd opinion from your doctor. If you feel like you are vomiting each time ,I would not mess around with your condition and get yourself up to the ER. |
