Heart attack? gerd? or anxiety help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!? |
hey all. For the past 5 days I鈥檝e have hade really intense chest pains. The pains are usually in the center of my chest (like exactly in the middle) It feels like someone is sitting on my chest or I鈥檝e gotten something stuck in my throat. The pain sometimes radiates from my arm to my jaw to my back. I also get sharp pains on the left side of my chest including my under arms and ribs!!!!!! Again this has been constant non-stop for 5 days. I鈥檝e been to the doctor and the ER within the 5 day span and both sent me away saying its anxiety. I鈥檝e had stress tests, EKG鈥檚 chest x-rays and a few other tests in the past and all are fine. Noone has an answer to what i have. Please help me!! I honestly feel like im going to die. P.S my doctor says its probably not gerd because the pressure and length of pain im describing do not coincided with gerd I am a person with a medical background (Radiologic Technologist and Cardiac Monitor Technologist); if you are serious in describing your condition, I can not believe that you have not been admitted to a hospital for an entire comprehensive cardiac workup. I went to the Emergency Room once complaining of left upper chest pain, and even though at the time I was uninsured, I was admitted overnight and monitored, ruling out cardiac involvement (angina). The symptoms you mention are all indicative of possible coronary problems. In my opinion, you should return to the hospital and be re-examined; test results can change without notice, and the fact that you had a negative EKG recently (or even an hour ago) is no indication that you are not currently experiencing a new and dangerous cardiac event. If you are indeed experiencing anxiety, then you require treatment for that since it is affecting your life so that you can not function adequately. Those who have diagnosed your condition may be guilty of negligence as they have not alleviated your pain and fears... i would suspect that the medical professionals are more qualified to diagnose you than those of us online. call your doctor NOW and explain your symptoms and ask for advice and help. hi......no need to worry about it......it is not a heart pain....you are just suffering form cardic neurosis.......i think if u r ECG and chest x-ray are normal then it is not a heart pain.......you should consult to a psychatrist....forget it for ever and try to be happy If the EKG and CXR was normal and Cardiac Enzymes negative. Try process of elimination. You/the docs are suspecting anxiety- then TAKE A XANAX!!! If your symptoms are resolved then you have answered your question. If this doesn't work, the next thing is to seek a gastroenterologist to rule out GI symptoms. Take an antacid. Is there any major stressors in your life? Is something triggering these symptoms? Psychological stress can manifest itself into some major physical symptoms. But if the anxiolytic does not work you need to get a really thorough work up (include an MRI to rule out anyeurysm) u won't die, don't worry, here take a look at this link for cardiovascular problems.... I had similar problems a few weeks into my mono diagnosis. I felt like i was going to di. Chest pains and real bad pain below my adams apple and felt like i couldnt breathe. ER DR blew me off and I was upset, reg DR ruled anything major but within the next 2 weeks Im going to another DR. to an extent it could be anxiety but Its just not all fear I did have pains and like you its not all in my head. Some Drs pee me off. |
