Gerd & chest pain and GAS?

Can gas / gerd/ cause chest pain. When I take an antacid, pain goes away...

You betcha. .

All to frequently, the pain of Gerd (Gastric Esophageal Reflux disorder) causes a pain in the center of the chest, which can mimic a heart attack. Every year, thousands of people ignore that pain and end up either dead or, a cardiac invalid.

Generally, if the pain recedes with antacid, it is nothing serious, BUT, depending on your age and general health, it would advantageous to make an appointment with your doctor and have it checked out.

In this case, better safe than sorry.

Yes, gas pains are often mistaken for heart attacks. Whats gerd?

yes it does certainly,
but show it to a Dr. just to be on the safe side.

eat lots of fresh parsley ( like a good hand full )

Yep! it certainly can. I have a really messed up stomach..Ulcer and a Hiatus hernia which gives me gerd. I get a lot of discomfort in my chest. If the antacids are making it better it is acids.

I take omeprazle every morning now and rarely get any symptoms :)

yes this is right gatroesophageal reflux disease or GERD IS combination between XXS acid production and disrupted gastric motility thus resulting in back flow of acid upward causing chest pain and as a result of decreased motility indigestion occur causing gases and floating and so on HOW TO AVOID? simply avoid smoking and decrease weight and decrease salt and spicy and also chocolate and soda HOW TO TREAT ? for mild to moderate cases you can take ranitidine 75mg OTC i don't like magnesia or sod bicarbonate eff sachets since it is very effective for the fist few times then stomach accustomed them self and produce more and more acid for severe cases you could take PPI AS PANTOPRAZOLE WHICH DECREASE ACID PRODUCTION BY 92% AND MOTILIUM TO ADJUST ESOPHAGEAL MUSCLE TONE but note these drugs are RX only
