Does GERD /acide reflux lead to depression and anxiety? |
if a person is suffering from GERD , acidity .... indigestion and loose stools and bloated feeling will he get depression and anxiety attacks It is a possibility. Any long term physical ailment can lead to depression and anxiety attacks. It just depends on the person and their way of dealing with it. I doubt it, but anyone who has a long term physical illness can feel depressed, but not suffer from depression. They always say that Irritable bowel syndrome also triggers anxiety and depression.So I say it would be very similar to what you are going through.Doctors are good at prescribing anxiety medications to people who suffer anything like these symptons.All the best with a proper diagnosis. |
