Has anyone with gerd put on abdominal weight?

ive had acid reflux , gerd and irritable bowel for a while im under the hospital and had all the tests im now on
osmeseprazole , has anyone else but me put on loads of abdominal fat/weight or bloat since being on these pills ?????????

I recently was put on protonix for ard, and have not noticed any weight gain, and i'm trying to lose weight.... I just posted a question on what is the best things to eat with gerd or ard....

That medicine will not cause those symptoms as it is to reduce the acid content and calm the stomach.

Yes, too am suffering from some of those problems and the bland food, the antacids, the mild depression associated with the problem etc. caused weight gain and other problems. Whether the pills themselves cause the problem, I am not too sure (I used Esoomeprazole and other PPIs for some time but am now not using). I just manage my food intake and have accepted my weight gain as part of my life.

Sorry but I don't think you can blame either your medication or your condition(s). for weight gain. Reduce your calorie intake and take more exercise, both will help your condition.
