Systemic fungal infections?

Can anyone tell me the following:-

Symptoms of systemic fungal infection
Diagnosis of it
Whether blood levels would be abnormal, i.e. white cell count, lymphocytes etc...
natual cures for fungal infection

I've been to my GP several times and to the hospital. They have taken dozens of blood tests and said all my levels were normal.

Is systemic fungal infection rare? I.e. would it only effect those with HIV and such?

I just feel that all of these problems started just after taking antibiotics for bacterial infection. I was perfectly healthy then had a tooth infection followed by a vaginal infection, I took two lots of antibiotics, then I got a coating on my tongue, but treated it with Nystatin and it didn't go. Have had recurring vag thrush and toenail infection. I called my GP this afternoon and she virtually had a major go at me for ringing up and contacting them so many times. She INSISTS I have only a psychological problem. Even though I have physical symptoms. She said my symptoms are not consistant with anything, though they have progressed since late Feb to the tachycardia, high blood pressure and gastrointestinal probs.

Sounds like Lyme disease to me. I have it and have been researching. There isn't a reliable test for lyme disease. If you had antibiotics, steroids, cold sores you can test negative if you are positive. Deer tick bite, rash or it could be another tick born pathogen. According to your symptoms. There all tick born pathogens all over the world. In the NE US we have lyme and it is spreading at a rapid rate. You can also have a co-infection with it. Such as one of the yeast bacteria.

The only way to truly determine if you have a systemic fungal infection is by having a blood culture done. If you have a fungal infection, there really is no cure. Fungal infections are lethal. Sorry.

Systemic fungal infenctions are tricky (keep in mind that i only treat superficial mycosis)

You have to suspect fungal infection and begin treatment right away. It can effect almost any seysem with non-specific symptoms.

A diagnosis can be made with a successful culture from body tissue but this typically takes longer than a week. there are some ways that you can test for fungal metabolites in the blood, etc.

On regular blood tests, neutropenia may be present, which predisposed the patient to infection.

I don't know of any 'natural' cures. If you have a systemic fungal infection, you had better get your **** to the hospital to get some IV antifungal medication.

Fungal infections would only be diagnosed after a positive fungal culture. It is not commonly seen in healthy people, it generally appears in those with immune deficiencies due to chemotherapy, transplants, and HIV. There are no "natural cures" for fungal infections only antibiotics such as Caspofungin, Voriconazole, and Amphotericin B.
