Systemic fungal infection?

Can systemic fungal infection cause worsening sinus tachycardia/arryhtmia?

Which white cells are raised when someone has systemic fungal infection?

Are ANY levels out because of it?

Can a healthy person develop invasive fungal infection within a couple of months or so?

If all they have done is take antibiotics for an infection?

My GP will not test me for fungal infection, she refuses to believe that it is systemic - saying "It's highly unlikely!" I have asked for tests and because I already had lots of bloods done, she believes I have some kind of mental illness about my health. However, I have a lot of symptoms which say otherwise.

No - I am not obsessed by this, just trying to find answers.

I have been referred to a psychiatrist by my GP - how nice of her (*sarcastic)

Had tooth infection - took antibiotics
Had womb infection straight after - took antibiotics. Started itching all over, developed coated painful tongue, itching in throat. Used plain yoghurt to cure it. Then developed vag thrush and thrush around my bum. Used cream to clear it. Lost my appetite because when I ate I got sores in my mouth, painful ones, tongue coated again.
Then started with racing heart rate that would take hours to calm down. As the weeks went on my resting rate was about 90 odd and when I stood up it was 120 odd. Went to hospital 3 times. Had bloods taken - all normal. Tachy has been ongoing, not intermittent. I also get petechaie on my skin, and I am having circulation probs, and my fingernails have gone bluish. I do have fungal infection on my feet. I'm on beta blockers at the moment.

Systemic fungal infections occur in patients who already have health problems and compromised immune systems. If you have AIDS, are on chemotherapy for cancer, or have had a organ transplant you may contract a fungal infection. Otherwise you are at greater risk from car accidents than fungus.

Patients with systemic fungal infections are extremely sick. Including: Temperature >38潞C or <36潞C, Heart rate >90 beats/min, Respiratory rate >20 breaths/min or PaCO2 <32 mmHg, WBC >12,000 cells/mm3, <4000 cells/mm3, or with >10 percent immature (band) forms, and eventually multi-organ failure.

If you had a systemic fungal infection you would be in the hospital right now, not on the Internet asking questions about it.

I think you have a systematic YEAST infection(candida). Try to research it. you have some of the side effects. You've also killed all your good bacteria in your intestine, thats why you got a white coating on your tongue. Dont take anymore antibiotics. Get rid of the main cause( yeast). Report It

What are you really asking about? What's at the bottom of this? Do you have a cardiac dysrrthmia? Is that what's bothering you? Do you even have that????

You may be obsessive about this and are self-developing symptoms or imagining them. See another doctor and if you're told the same thing, see a psychiatrist.

just to answer your question in general..... systemic fungal infections are the worst infection that a human can have. you think about athletes foot being simple and it is, but fungal infections are extremely dangerous once they have become systemic.

one would likely be close to death with a systemic fungal infection -- your GP is correct.
