Fungal Infection at Groin? |
hello...i m a 21 F and i went to a GP recently who diagnosed me with fungal infection at the groin areas...the infection started around a month ago...he only gave me anti-fungal cream which i have been using for the past 5 days...despite using the cream....nothing seems to get better and more tiny bumps are appearing at areas near the groin as well....i wonder if anyone noes tt is it natural for new bumps to appear at this point in time and how long does it take for the fungal infection to go away ? Well, I am dealing with the same infec rihgt now. To the best of my knowlege anyway. I don't see the gyno until the 22nd. The pharmacist recomened an antifungal creme and it kept spreading. It would go away in the groin but then the upper thighs kept itching! I stilll don't dare go out in public. I don't know about the bumps but I do know that the gyno must have been wrong. Better go back. ewwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!! topical fungul infections usually don't go away on their own You need to keep using the cream for about a week or so after it clears up just to make sure it is gone. If it doesn't start clearing up soon go back to your Dr. and tell him or her, so they can give you something different. Maybe you should try going to see a Sexually transmitted disease clinic! Fungal infection of the groins would present as ring shaped flat scaly lesions and not bumps. Only an anti fungal cream would take time to resolve the condition about 10 to 15 days atleast. I suggest you see a dermatologist. You might need oral anti fungal medicines. If its Dermatitis, do you drink much alcohol? if so you may be lacking some B vitamins. Try complete B complex vitamins every day. I think its better you go to another doctor for advise. No, it is not. Some creams don't work for certain people. I imagine that he gave you Tetrizone, but I can't say for sure. Eat a ton of yougurt, go back to hime, tell him it's not working, and see what he says. Give it another week, though. Antibiotics don't work until the third day or so, so why would a cream work any faster? Buy some Summer's Eve feminine wash and wash frequently, and remember, to prevent further infections, wipe from font to back. It will take about 15 days for the fungal infection to go away. (P.S.- It's a yeast infection. Your GP just used a technical name.) I once had a fungal infection of the groin. Come to find out it was not just one type of fungal infection but several at the same time. My doctor actually gave me a prescription of several types of creams that I had to mix before applying it. He also told me to make sure that I cover not only the area of where the fungal was but all of the groin area to keep it from spreading. He also told me to make sure that I keep the area really clean and allow it to air dry as much as possible. He even suggested that I use a folded paper towel in my pany line to help proctect that area from the constant rubbing of my underwear as well as to help with the moisture that would be produced not only by my own body due to sweating but by the fungal infection itself. I hope that this helps- I know that it helped me. |
