Is fungal infection common in Washington State?

Because of damp and wet weather, I think that fungal infection might be common. I would appreciate if you give me some info.. Hope to hear from you soon..

I know many people who have had ringworm or similar fungal infections here in Washington. It does appear to be more prevalent but that is based purely on my anecdotal experience.

What I do know from talking to my Dr., is that Egzema, Psoriasis and other skin disorders (as opposed to fungus infections), are more common due to the cold weather, absence of sun and resulting lack of Vitamin D production from your skin. Some of these disorders, particularly plaque psoriasis, look like a fungal infection.

My friend in Seattle stays home all the time since it's very cold and also rains all the time. His house is always heated therefore it's very dry.
