What is the safest way to get rid of VAGINAL FUNGAL INFECTION? I was given a cream by my ob-gyne but it?

gives me headaches. I tried the herbal Fungal Infection capsules but it seemed to work only on the 1st day. Are natural antibiotics good to take with the cream and the herbal tablets? I heard about using a tampon with tea tree oil or powdered acidophilus - is it better than douching? Would a tampon absorb and pull out all the infection? Please refer a link that would give details on the tampon remedy - i have read the curezone.com website but I am hoping for response from the Yahoo answers also

YOu should never ever douche without a doctors order. The doc gave you meds but you failed to call your doc and let them know you were having side effects from it. You need to call your doc first thing in the morning and tell her about your side effects so they can tell you what they want you to do next. NEVER douche though and do not use soap in the vaginal area as this is a self cleaning oriface.

Antibiotics won't help a fungal infection but I've actually used a vineagar and water douche with about 5 drops of tea tree oil in it for two nights, it seemed to work for me.

I've never of that tampon remedy. Antibiotics with not work.... it's fungal not bacterial. Ask your doctor if she prescribe you a different kind of cream.

I got this cream from my ob/gyne it's called MetroGel-Vaginal by 3M Pharmaceuticals. It is amazing! I don't even use the recommended dose of 2 times a day for 5 days. I put a small amount up there only once and odor/everything disappears. It is the only thing I will use for the rest of my life. The creams are horrible! This gel is really amazing.

Talk with your doctor - this is a fungus, not a bacterial infection so an antibiotic won't work . You need an anti fungal medicine.
Please don't use over the counter remedies or home remedies, you're just messing things up more. And please never douche unless directed to do so by your doctor !!! Your vagina is made to clean and heal itself, and when you use meds or methods that you think will work - you're actually killing the balance of good vs harmful bacteria in your vagina and causing the problem to multiply.
Talk to your doctor again and tell him what the side effects are and he can give you another Rx.

first of all. vaginal cream CAN NOT GIVE U HEADACHE. it just can't. are u applying cream into the right place by the way? anyway, u do not use antibiotic to kill fungal infection. if u start using antibiotics your fungul infection will just grow more - all bacterias are killed, nothing is stopping it. (fungus is not bacteria, it is a mashroom). anyway, if cream doesn't suit u u go back to doctor and he will prescribe another fungicide. if u re using it locally (in vagina) u shouldn't put any bacterial tampons together with it. u may use bacteria tampons only after u finished fungicide. anyway, why re u asking here? isn't it the right time to go bak to doctor?

Acidophilus on a tampon will not "absorb and pull out all the infection" - an infection is made of little tiny microorganisms that fight against you. Acidophilus will eat your infection, eat those microorganisms, reinstating a sane vaginal bacterial flora. You can also try a tampon soaked in probiotic yoghurt.
DO NOT DOUCHE!

A topical cream is unlikely to give you headaches...
