My friend went 2 the doctor and she was told her white furry tongue is caused from a fungal infection.....?

DR didnt explain how it came about, how was the fungal infection caused, would the white furry tongue be the only symptom of this?

She definately hardly drinks any water, but she seems to have always had a white tongue, so never really thought much about it, till she visited DR.From the answers received, u all more or less say the same thing, so must be.

Its called thrush and its fairly common in children or people taking antibiotics. Thrush is a topical fungal infection of the oral cavity which is why your friends tongue is the only symptom. She may develop a sore throat or her mouth may become sore as well. Fungus likes to live in dark warm moist areas and places like the mouth and the vagina are the perfect growing grounds. I'm sure the Dr gave her some antifungal medication...make sure she uses a backup method of birth-control if she is taking the pill.

Could be - He is the doctor - I always do research on the internet if I am diagnosed with anything

check out www.webmd.com

Or just type that into yahoo or google and see what pops up

your friend let it go that far to actually grow fur on it...how disgusting

It is true I worked in a doctor's office and heard of this. It can also be from not having enough water and having a lot of salt. I know that sounds weird. LOL

thank God it wasn't lymphoma

she is full of candida she needs to cleanse her body well she shouldn't eat any thing that produce yest like nightshade vegetables and so on she should drink a lot of water too
she should cut on sugar too
