Treating Minor Frostbite? And could an arrow cause...?

It's not bad, but I have frostbite.

There are blisters and ect.

I've heard Hot Water can actually damage the area even more. So I'm avoiding that.

I heard that you should put the frostbitten area in water heated to 100 degrees farenheit. This true?

Thanks.

And also. My friend was "skimmed" by an arrow (don't ask <.<). It went across the side of his face (Like the spear with Xerxes in 300, but not as bad). He was wondering if he could get staff infection. And also would he have t get a Tetanus (Spelling?) Shot. I only have knowledge of that type of shot from stepping on a rusty nail <.< But the arrow wasn't at all rusted.

Thanks for the help. Those of you who actually are going to answer.

And yes, my friend is planning on seeing a doctor sometime this week.

Sorry, I didn't mean to say Staff Infection.

Cool water on frost bite, gradually going to luke warm then warmer. You don't want to shock your skin.
About that arrow...infection is really a big concern. Yes, he needs a tetanus shot, and, maybe he can get a staph infection. Staph lives on our bodies, and, any time you break the skin, you run the risk of getting this infection. Soon rather that later for the doctors for both of you. He needs the shot and you need to have your toes looked at.
Have him wash the wound with soap and hot water, dry it very gently, apply a triple antibiotic ointment, and cover it.
What in the world have you two been doing?? lol!

Put your foot in warm water and let it soak, be careful about heating your foot up to quickly. If your skin turns black go to the hospital. Be careful about infection also. Keep the foot wrapped with clean and dry bandages and try to stay off it until it heals.

and yes your friend should get a tetanus shot, but that will not prevent him from getting an infection. As long as he keeps the area clean and watches for redness, swelling, fever, pus and stuff like that he should be fine. A tetanus shot prevents the tetanus virus which is also called "lock jaw". If you have had one of these shots in the last 10 years you are OK, but after 5 years some say to get a booster if you have a wound caused by metal.

You have answered both of your own questions, yes and yes!
