Frostbite? Here's the deal......? |
How do you know if you might have a slight case of frostbite? I work outside in the wind and sub-zero temps all the time and while most of the time my ears are covered, for the last few days my ear (not an ear infection) has been hurting and feels a little swollen. Could it be frostbite or is it more likely to be something else? It's not really inside my ear but my lobe doesn't hurt. I don't think there are any visible signs though . . . I think you should see a doctor frost bites are not something you want to kid around with but on the other hand look for pics on the web and it is probably something else I HAD A MILD CASE OF FROSTBITE , IT LEFT MY SKIN WITH A DARK TANNING COLOR . NEVER HEARD FROSTBITE INSIDE OF THE EARS. I worked as a flagger years ago, I was out in the cold temp's one day flagging without a break. I had these same symptoms. I went to the doctor 2 days later and he said it was frostbite. You need to get in to see a doctor as soon as possible because this is not a issue that one can put off without losing that ear. you need to get in to get treatment asap...I would go to a walk in clinic. and get your hat and scarf on !!!!!!! Stay warm good luck |
