Symptoms of frostbite?

While at work, the delivery driver was lazy and I was forced to go into the walk in freezer and put the tubs of ice cream away. I didn't have any gloves on. I wasn't in the freezer that long, but the tips of my fingers are sore, red and peeling. If this is frostbite, what can I do to alleviate the symptoms?

Local pain - an early symptom
Local pallor
Local numbness
Local blisters
Blackening skin
Local swelling
Greying of affected area
Shivering
Slurred speech
Memory loss

There are two kinds of frostbite: superficial and deep frostbite. The first is less severe and with it, you may experience burning, tingling, numbness, and redness. Since I am not a physician, I can not diagnose a medical condition. That being said, I do know someone who has suffered from frostbite. It is possible that you suffered a mild case of frostbite because of your lazy driver. The amount of tissue damage is related the the amount of time the tissue was frozen.
I read that aloe vera is applied to patients having suffered from frostbite, and ibuprofen is given to combat pain and alleviate the inflammation. Good luck and hopefully the next driver will be a little more considerate. If not, I would invest in some warm gloves!

Frostbite is injury due to freezing of tissue. Initial presentation may be deceptively benign. Skin may appear white or blistered and is numb; rewarming causes substantial pain. Gangrene may develop. Treatment is rewarming in warm (40 to 42掳 C) water and local care. Severely damaged tissue may autoamputate. Surgical amputation is occasionally necessary, but a decision, often guided by imaging results, should usually be delayed until several months after injury.
Symptoms of frostbite:
The first symptoms are a "pins and needles" sensation followed by numbness. There may be an early throbbing or aching, but later on the affected part becomes insensate (feels like a "block of wood").
Frostbitten skin is hard, pale, cold, and has no feeling. When skin has thawed out, it becomes red and painful (early frostbite). With more severe frostbite, the skin may appear white and numb (tissue has started to freeze).
Very severe frostbite may cause blisters, gangrene (blackened, dead tissue), and damage to deep structures such as tendons, muscles, nerves, and bone.
