How is frostbite like a burn? |
How is frostbite like a burn? Frostbite is similar to a burn because when you get frostbitten it freezes the skin so bad; including muscle tissue, fatty tissue, and etc.; that the skin is literally destroyed. It destroys it like a burn. And it hurts like one too. Unlike regular burns frostbite isn't rated in how bad you are burnt, unlike burns caused by heat, (first degree, second degree, third degree, and fourth degree) Frostbite just destroys the skin, muscle, and fatty tissues. If you treat it soon enough before the skin is completely destroy you could save the skin, muscle, arm, or leg. Hi Joy, Frostbite destroy's your muscles' and tissue. It's worse that a burn.Sometimes if it is in a small area they will cut that area out. If it has gone to far you could lose a leg, arm, feet and the list go's on.It's not a pretty site to see someone frostbited. Frostbite freezes the water molicules in the cells, and I hear it is quite painful, like it burns. Its worse than a burn. The tissue turns black cause its dead. It has to get cut off. |
