Gangrene as a result of frostbite - anyone who has experience of this?

What are the symptoms of a gangrene in fingers or ears?
If you can still feel your fingers or earlaps and there is blood flow in them (i.e. they are warm) is there any risk that they might still get gangrene after being frozen for a while? Or is gangrene the last step, when the skin is completely purple or black? Thanks for your replies!!!

If your fingers and ears are pink and warm, u dont have gangrene. If you had gangrene, they would be black and have a very bad odor.
