I have something is it frostbite.....?

it is just a little spot on my finger it is maybe 1/4 inch big and it is blue and swollen not a lot jus to where it is noticable it happened saturday

Sounds like it might be a blood blister. This is when you injure the area by hitting it on something. The capillaries break and blood seeps into the area below the skin. It will absorb on its own. Just give it a couple of days.

Frostbite turns your fingers black not blue, sounds like a bruise under the skin or something else, did you injure it?

Well what type of temperature where you working in.

Frostbite has three levels, first starts out red sort of like a scald (from like super hot) this usually goes away with in a week or so but some light nerve sensativity to the skin.

The next level is like a purplish color, and swelling will occur this is when you should seek medical advise immediatly. Moderate to severe nerve damage with approximately 65% recovery from nerve damage.

Third is black and lack of feeling, complete nerve damage, capiliarry damage, no blood flow etc.. This type generally requires amputation.

Or you could have just bruised it!

sounds like a blood spot...frost bite is usually gray in the early stages and turns black over time. it will also appear waxy.

It could be, but with an area that small, there would be no lasting damage. Just keep it protected for a few days and it should disappear.
