Can Fractures in Young Children Go Unnoticed?

My son @ 9 and a half months old fell of a bed and an instant lump came up on his forehead, so i treated it with an ice pack and TLC.
Two months later he had x-rays which showed signs of aged fractures above his wrist and ankle on the right hand side?
Im just wondering if it happened when he fell of the bed or if it happened during delivery he was a true knot baby.
They told me to push when i wasnt contracting as the head was out and they could see the knot in the cord around his neck.

Any Ideas?

My son went for about 5 days with a fractured arm at the age of 2 before we had him looked at.

He fell from our slide in the back yard and he really didn't show any symptoms of a break. He just favored it and would wimper a bit if it was pulled on.

Even on the day of the fall, he was using his hand and playing normally. I would have never thought it was actually fractured if I didn't see the xray myself.

Kids bones are mostly cartilidge at first and flexy, so appearently it is easy to have a crack and not know it.

yes.we had an abuse case here in las vegas where both of a little kids legs were fractured.they happened about 2 weeks apart.it wasn't until the second leg got injured that the child got taken to the hospital.only some x-rays explained the child's pain.
