Dentists? Stress fractures on teeth??? |
I have stress fractures on my teeth from clenching my teeth a lot. What can I do about them, and what will happen if I don't do anything about them? Do they make your teeth more brittle? You should go see your dentist. Stress fractures do compromise the tooth's strength. Some minimal frctures are normal as we age. Most dentists reccomend a night gaurd, also called a gelb, for clenching and grinding. They can be worn only at night or during the day depending on when you are doing it. You should consult your dentist. In the mean time you could try one from the drug store. It won't fit a well as the one the dentist can make but it can give you some relief. You should also look into why you are clenching. Is it from stress, your bite, or physical health, ect. If something is contributing to your clenching you should try to resolve that also. |
