Shin splints to stress fractures?????

im a runner i know i have shin splints but do u think i have stress fractures since mid november iv had shin splints theyr not really getting better at all sometimes when im just sitting down i can feel the pain i mean it just comes out of no where its in like the inside of my legs on both legs

if it is stress fractures how will i know for sure
and on avg how long do they take to heal will 9 days off my feet work?

Shin splints occur when there are small tears in the muscles that connect to the shinbone. It can lead to a stress fracture since those muscles cannot help the bone support the weight of running like they used to. You will know it's stress fracture when even walking is painful. SS typically take 5-7 days to heal, but since you have been running on them for over a month now I would recommend taking at least 12-14 days off. If that doesn't heal them I would go have x-rays done to check for a fracture. Hope this helps, feel free to email me with any further questions.
