Do fractures never heal? |
I have an old fracture of the of the zygomatic bone the doctor said is healed but it still shows up on ct scans. Past fractures will always show up. Twenty years ago, I fractured (broke) bones in my right ankle. Today, I continue to experience a dull pain in my ankle. I have to be very selective in my choice of shoes, and avoid any physical activity that may put pressure on my ankle. I still bowl, play golf, and participate in walk-a-thons; but, am constantly aware of what could happen if I make one mis-step. yes usually most all fractures heal, but there re some cases where they do not heal. It depends on whats broken, how badly its broken, what the persons overall health is like, their age, do they do what the dr tells them to do or do they do what they want. |
