Leg pain/fractures question?

I've been having pain in my leg around the side my shin. It is definitely the bone that is causing me pain and not the muscle. I was wondering if it could be a partial fracture or would I not even be able to walk? It is extremely painful to walk up and down stairs but even regular walking hurts. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong would be great =)
Oh and please don't say go to the doctor because I am going to but I cant until the first of the month (its an insurance thing)

It could be shin splints, which is irritation of the small fibers of the muscle, where they enter the shin. It can be helped with ice packs before and after excercise and with OTC anti-inflammatories (Motrin/Advil/Aleve)

It could also be a stress fracture (which can get worse). That is diagnosed with an x-ray or a bone scan. You can walk on a stress fracture, but if you injure it again it can break through.

If it suddenly gets worse go to the ER (a hospital will work with you to arrange payments) or try a free clinic (check the yellow pages).

if u can walk, ur fine

if it still hurts by ur next check up then mention it to ur doctor, but i dont think anything is broken
