Worried! 9 yr old wrote a song about a 7yr old commiting suicide-Everyone tells me I am overreacting? |
My daughter loves to write songs. She's written songs about Jesus, How I am her Angel, Songs about love for family, then the other day I found one about a 7yr old whose family died, was sent to foster care, rejected, commited suicide and left a note saying "At least I will be with my family" Since the night I seen the song, I have not brought it up to her again. I have encouraged her to continue writing songs and letting her know that I think she is very talented. Because of your diagnosis it is likely that your daughter could also inherit a bipolar disorder, as I did from my mother. The fact that she is so young should make you concerned. My advice would be to keep an open for anymore songs or behavior that suggest your daughter has the disorder, if she writes anymore songs or shows any signs I would take her to speak to a counselor and get the counselors opionion. After this post, she verbally said she wanted to kill herself, Took her for a eval and Dr. confirms she has bipolar. Report It yes you are give her space Email me privately. I can help you with this!! The more you let them do it the more they get thier minds weird. I really think that you should let her go on the first time and if you find one again, tell he rthat you do not appricate it. See ya. I would say you are over reacting. My suggestion would be to keep a close eye on her actions and also for things that might relate to what you may have done. Take precaution dont over push it. GOOD LUCK!!!! seem like history reaply itself.. but be alert when she become teen, it is very common for them to be depression because of ID confusion. just talk to her and ask her how she felt when she wrote those song or poem, all u have to do is to listen, square in ur face to her. dont overreact, most depression dislike the feel of being control by somebody who dont listen and react. YOU ANWSERED YOUR OWN QUESTION PAY CLOSE ATTENTION JUST WHEN EVERYONE THINKS YOU ARE CRAZY THATS WHEN THE BOMB WILL BLOW UP AND EVERYONE WILL BE SAYING O OO I SHOULD OF LISTEN TO YOU WATCH HER CLOSELY AND START JOTTING DOWN THINGS YOU KNOW IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS KEEP A JOURNAL OF WHATS GOING ON TIL THINGS CLEAR UP maybe, maybe not. Call your local community mental health clinic or child guidance clinic. Have the girl seen by a professional. Kids give off signals in a lot of different ways. Better to be safe than sorry. Make the call. You're the Mom, nobody else is. |
