I am 21 and have gained about 10 pds a year since i was 15? |
i was always a big kid, my mother neglected me so i ended up eating whtever i could find in my house, pb,ranch dressing from the bottle, chip dip, anything that i could grab. i was put in foster care when i was 8 i weighed 82 pounds then. but being taken care of i shed all the weight and was finally a normal kid. when i turned 15 i was all boobs and butt and weighted about 135. i eat like a bird literally. usually i ate maybe dinner and nothing else the rest of the day. i have had a child but i lost all the weight within a week after the baby was born because it was all baby. so it doesnt count. but i now weigh 190 because i fasted a month for my holiday. i am preg again but it doesnt explain why over the years i have gained so much when i dont eat hardly anything. i see alot of fat that has just reproduced on my back and hips. i look like i have boobs back there. i dont understand. is it just genetic because my real family is huge or what? You answered my question about how people become heavily obese. And honestly, I made myself sound over the top, but I really dont' eat that much fast food, it just seems like it because our cafe doesnt' have healthy food. I am studying to become a nutritionist. And I know a good reason why you are gaining weight. As soon as I read your answer I immediately wanted to talk to you, so I looked on your profile to find a way to talk to you about it and found this question. When you don't eat anything, you SLOW your metabolism. You need to start eating again, normally. No adult should eat under 1000 calories a day nomatter who are or you will significantly slow your metabolism. You are putting your body into starvation mode, so it is burning what you are putting in slower so it can survive. But you deffinately should still have more than 1000 calories a day. For you I would suggest about 1600-1700 calories a day. AND to help your metabolism re adjust to the new calorie intake you should make sure to eat a breakfast of around 300 calories within an hour of getting up. A tall glass (try 16 ounce) of green tea freshly brewed from you (tea bag and hot water) with your breakfast will also help to boost your metabolism. This doesn't have to be drank with breakfast but you should have at least 2 of these a day. Green tea has caffiene that speeds up your metabolism as well as another natural ingredient that is unique to only it. When you drink green tea it WILL make you hungery. But this is good becuase it is burning off what you ate. You should have a healthy snack of lets say a cup of fruit, yogurt, whole grain crackers, or cereal for a snack a few hours later. Dont' skip ANY meal EVER. In order to get your metabolism back up to normal you need to EAT. You need to eat small portions all the time (every 3 hours). Everytime you eat your body's metabolism goes up becuase it has to digest it. Eating small frequent portions will help. Also, excerisize is important, even if its just a 10 minute walk. Eat plenty of mono and polyunsaturated fats, limit yourself to 20 grams of saturated fat a day. Limit yourself to 1 gram or less of trans fat a day. AND realize that the healthy fats (mono and poly) are something you NEED. You won't get fat from eating fat, if you stay in your calorie range that I gave you. The reason they say that fat will make you fat is becuase people tend to go over their calories when they eat fat. Why? Fat has 9 calories per gram, while carbs and protien only have 4 calories per gram. However, you need to eat all your calories, and your body needs good fat to survive, so eat good fat. Eat all of the 1600-1700 calories a day, But don't go over. If you do, not biggy, if it isn't very often, just add what you ate onto the next days calories. I hope this helped. Another factor to throw in is what you are eating when you do (take-out foods, processed sugars and tons of salt are all difficult for your body to process). A lot of people benefit from eating their large meal in the morning as it sustains them through the day and you eat a light lunch and light dinner. If you don't eat within the three hours before bedtime, the food you ate at dinner will have enough time to pass into the intestine and make digestion easier on your body at night. When you eat right before bed the natural process of gravity on your digestive system cannot take place and it sort of festers all night trying to move. The reason you gain weight and yet you don't eat much of anything is that you're probably eating "dense calories" You've had a kid in 6 years and one on the way and you want to know why you are gaining weight so fast? First weight from a baby NEVER goes a way. Especially skin. Skin is fat. Think about it. My friend had a baby 2 years ago and NEVER got her body back. Yup, you're smart for having a second one if you want a body, oh and a life. If at one point you eat a lot then start eating hardly nothing you will lose weight then start to gain weight cause your metabolism got messed up and is working very slow because you are not giving it the nutrition your body needs. That could be the problem or you could have a thyroid problem. You should ask your doc. |
