What do you think of this comment, it applies to any1 who has has an std?

Someone on here said people with stds "got what they deserved because they fornicated with a man" (in the case of a woman) and " it is for their lewd sins because they had sex out of marriage" and " after they have been preached to endlessy about safe sex" etc, something along those lines. What if you are a young girl, with no mother or father, molested as a young child, aged out of foster care and now you have had unprotected sex and contracted an std. Lets assume this person would go to any extreme to fill the emptiness she felt and got taken advantage of by older men and did not know any better or thought stds were rare. Now why would somebody have the right to subject that person to such harsh criticism as "they deserved it, and are suffering for their lewd sins." You can't judge some1 til you have walked in their shoes!

The interesting thing is that people who say that don't apply that logic to other things. Most heart attack are caused by a person's diet and life style. So are many types of cancers, diabetes, and lung disease. You can blame most of those on the person they happened to, but we don't see those people as "sinners" who "got what they deserved".

It's human nature to apply logic in a way that fits what we want to be true, and ignore it when it doesn't fit. A person shouldn't let someone else's diatribe affect how they view their own worth.

Whoever said it was a religious nut. No one deserves any kind of illness period.

This comment had to be made by a person who has no true understanding of sin and/or punishment.Disease cannot be punishment,what about newborns and infants with terminal diseases?What sins have they commited?What about husbands and wives who contract diseases from their spouses?What about the people who practiced safe sex and because of breakage,were still infected?The person who made this comment does not need to be scolded or persecuted,he/she is already miserable and that is worse than many of the diseases suffered,because there is no real cure and no ongoing research either.
