I need help with cutting and dancing?

It all started in Eighth grade and i would cut all the time, i had been put up for foster care then my dad died and then i was adopted by a horrible family. I couldn't take it cutting was the only thing that helped. Well at my old dance studio (i'm a ballerina i have been doing ballet for 12 years) we were allowed to wear long sleeved black tight shirts over our leotards because i lived in Juno Alaska so duh hopefully we would be able to, but now i moved back to texas and there is NO WAY we can wear long sleeves in ballet i love dance soooo much it helps take away some stress but the stress of not being able to dance with out explaining my cuts, makes me want to cut even more. how could i still dance but cover them up and also how do i cover them up at school i know every one says long sleeves and thats what i've been doing but hello texas is freaking hot like last year on christmas 87 oh yeah no way i can always wear long sleeves
HELP
thanks

You need to find help for yourself mentally , not help for how to hide your problem. I suggest you stop hiding this problem and address it !

bracelets gone crazy
makeup
armwarmers -- fishnets keep your arms cool and if you get them wet they keep cool too
all at the same time

I cut for a few years - it doesnt help
it just makes you feel like somone will care for you more when they see... try something eles... how about poking sterile sewing needles into your legs? at least that's an inprovement!!

cangrats on your dancing!!

You definitely need to tell someone about this. I am a recovering cutter as well and it makes things a lot easier to just let someone know. It's easier then having to hide your body, and be afraid of people knowing your "secret". Talk to a counselor, or since you love dancing so much, maybe you can talk to your ballet instructor. You really should get this out in the open though, to continue doing this will only lead to worse cuts and in the long run, you know it doesn't help whats hurting on the inside.
