Whole milk VS lower fat milks, why would a Dr yell about drinking one or the other for kids who have no health

issues. I took 2 of my foster kids to the PCP for a wellness check, kids are relatively healthy, no significant weight issues and are 15 and soon to be 17. The Dr asked what kind of milk they drank, they said whole milk, the doctor started yelling that whole milk was PURE FAT and was bad for their health. Whole milk is NOT PURE FAT, but I can find no reason other than weight issues (they don't have) and health issues like high cholesterol (also don't have). They eat well rounded meals, with vegetables, fruits and whole juices, sodas are an OCCASIONAL treat, their iron levels came back EXCELLENT. I changed to 2 % and OMG they are downright adamant they DON'T like it & think the Dr is full of it. Trying to get them to improve their health & have no argument to give concerning this. I don't care what kind of milk they drink, is there any reason I need to continue torturing them with 2%, or should I keep them on it? I am wondering why I should have them on 2% if they are healthy?

Dr is a SHE.
It is TORTURE to listen to them whine
They have no other health issues
Fat sticks to UNHEALTHY PLAQUE which is produced with TOO MUCH CHOLESTEROL, which neither has
They engage in basketball, Hip Hop Dance classes and gym almost daily

healthvisiters reccomend whole milks

Whole milk is suggested to be changed to 2% after a certain age because the kids get their needed daily fat from other sources. He yelled because they are 15 and almost 17 and they are probably getting too much fat.

Your kids may not have any symptoms right now but they will as they get older.
The fat from homogenized milk sticks to arteries like glue, your children are young enough that nothing is visible yet, but with the years, you are severely increasing their risks of having a heart attack at 40, and that's only one of the health problems that fat will cause. Your doctor should have explained his reasons to you.
Come on, "torturing" kids with low fat milk?? Don't you think you're going a little strong there? Just a question of getting used to, in 2 weeks, they won't see the difference anyway.

My daughter who is almost three is on whole milk because she has always been very skinny since she was born. She eats very healthy and I didn't even give her sugar until after she was 2 and even now only maybe once a month.

Because my daughter is skinny the doc wanted me to keep her on whole. Once she gets a little older however he told me to switch to 2%. By the time I was 17 I was drinking skim milk. It really comes down to the fat content as they get older because adults have slower metabolism. It took me a few weeks before I got used to switching from 1% to skim milk, but I am glad I did and your kids will be glad too....in a few weeks! =)
