Foot Injury... Help!!!? |
I have an aggravatiing injury going on with my right foot, and i do not know what it is. If I walk for a moderate distance, I get a stabbing / burning sensation in my arch area. It does not last for long, but it returns from time to time. When I pull back on my big toe and press on that hard ligament that runs along the bottom of my foot, I hit a spot that is REALLY sore, and is the source of the stabbbing / burn that I feel when walking. What have I injured? What are my treatment options? Any help will be greatly appreciated. A proper diagnosis from an orthopedist who specializes in the foot and ankle would be best. It is possible that you have plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, midfoot sprain, tarsal tunnel syndrome, etc. Best advice (aside from making an appointment with a physician) is rest the foot (avoid long walks/runs/sports), ice 15-20 minutes throughout the day, stretch your arch and calf throughout the day, wear comfortable shoes when walking. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen) may help decrease pain and inflammation. Consider the need for orthotics (arch supports) in your shoes. Go to a podiatrist. There are so many bones in our feet. It would really be an injustice to you to try and tell you what the problem is. You may have flat feet. I know because this happened to me once, i had a pain in my arche area, and i could barely walk from school to home. check your doctor to see if you have flat feet, in if you do, make sure to get the right size arche support for watever shoe you wear. I you wear many shoes, get arche support for most of them. but i could be wrong, so dont go on my advice alone, check your doctor! |
