Foot Injury Question Addition? |
I posted the question about my foot injury about 4 days ago, and I have another question relating to the same injury. There was significant bruising that surfaced with the injury. The bruising in two of my toes is almost the same, they're pretty much black, and the bruising near my ankle is black as well, and growing in size. I'm still having localized pain, sometimes more extreme than others at one place on my foot. Is the bruising cause for concern since it is not starting to fade? I go back to the doctor on tuesday for possibly more x-rays. He was concerned that it may be a displaced fracture that wouldn't surface right away. Any feedback? if you have a splint of cast of some sort on your foot it's possible you've been keeping too tight. the other thing is the more you're on your foot the more swelling and discoloration is going to occur. Are you in a cast or a splint? You should not be putting any weight on your foot and keeping it elevated, iced as much as possible. Also, when you see your doctor and he/she does another x-Ray and it's negative, make sure they send you for a bone scan or a CT scan. You may have a Lisfranc's fracture/dislocation which is extremely difficult to see on the initial x-Rays, but it definitely needs to be surgically fixed (assuming your health permits). The bruising itself is not so much a cause for concern. Good luck |
