Foot injury a month ago, lacerated sole and almost lost a toe. Curious for any speedy recovery tips? |
Boat propeller cut the bottom of my foot and cut off my pinkie toe. It was reattached but I'm still not walking after a month and was wondering what kinds of herbal supplements and/or exercises or what kind of devices i can wear on my foot to assist me in walking. I want to lose the crutches and get back on my feet and I've been elevating, and taking medications and applying a topical medication. Is there anything else I can do? Hi, I would suggest you must consume Turmeric Powder- everyday boiled with milk. Turmeric or curcuma longa is a very useful anti-inflammatory, healing, anti-septic herb without any side effects. Along with Turmeric, consume 30ml of Aloe vera juice twice daily along with Indian Gooseberry juice (amla Juice) Both are rich in natural vitamins and minerals and will improve the healing process. The improvement will be dramatic I assure you ! Wish you a healthy and quicker recovery ! Ouchy...Well looks like your under a doctors care and thats great, I think an important focus right now is prevention of infection. I know you want to walk, but a month after you severed a pinky toe may be too soon. Accoording to WebMD, your priority is to keep a close eye on your pinky and take good care of it. Watch for signs of infection, loss of function, decreased blood flow, failure to heal, symptoms become more severe. Also you must realize that PAIN and EMOTION go together, if your doctor has said you should be walking by now and your not, then I would definitely look into emotional pain management. Your emotions may be blocking your recovery. According to WebMD one doctor states " "Anxiety about pain makes patients more dysfunctional," says one of the study's researchers, Ronald Kleinknecht, PhD. "The general fear of pain makes them avoid anything that will make them hurt more. Those who treat arthritis should be aware of this." Kleinknecht tells WebMD that in order to function, patients dealing with pain must override that fear. |
